Important Message About COVID-19 (August 4, 2020)

We continue to closely monitor the situation related to COVID-19 by following and continually adapting to the recommended guidelines outlined by local, state, and national public health agencies. On Tuesday, May 5th, Governor Pritzker issued
Restore Illinois, a five-phased plan that will reopen our state, guided by Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) metrics and with distinct business, education, and recreation activities characterizing each phase.

In adherence with this order, we at McCrone Research Institute in Chicago are confident that we are acting in the best interest of the health and well-being of our students, instructors, staff, and the greater community and will be able to resume in-person microscopy training courses in Phase 4 of the plan. As of June 26, 2020, the State of Illinois is in Phase 4 and we are adapting our business operations to the changing circumstances as we maintain our not-for-profit mission of scientific education, research, and publishing.

Also in effect, the City of Chicago is requiring everyone traveling from states with high rates of COVID-19 to quarantine upon arrival for a 14-day period. As of July 31, this includes the following: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. Effective Friday, August 7, travelers from Puerto Rico will also be directed to quarantine.

We are doing our part to reduce the impact and help control the spread of COVID-19 by adhering to IDPH and City of Chicago recommended and required guidelines. Please direct all enquiries to email:
